A second fantastic Bumper Book sale in St Mary’s Church by FOSMA and FOCAL on the amazing Adderbury Community Day Saturday 18 September yielded £2,000 to share between them. This was the result of the sale of about 2,000 books of the approximately 4,000 taken to the church by villagers plus the wonderful teas served and the payment by World of Books for the remainder. Well done and thank you to those who worked very hard on a demanding project

 The sun shone, the people came, the band played, the garden was beautiful – and we raised some funds. Perfect! Friends of St Mary’s Adderbury’s annual Jazz in the Garden was back – but this year to the splendid garden of Court End in Manor Road Adderbury. In glorious sunshine, over 150 people enjoyed the brilliant jazz of Dickie White and Friends while numerous more kids explored the depths of the garden. Plentiful picnics and a drop to drink put people in the mood to donate a record amount for the raffle, and FOSMA were able to raise over £1700 on the day. A huge thank you to everyone who came and gave so generously including sponsorship from Edd Frost and Daughters, to Dickie and Friends for the great music and to our hosts Caroline and Tim Jones. FOSMA continue to raise money for the upkeep of the fabric of our beautiful St Mary’s church. Our small committee is always looking for a bit more help – nothing too arduous but always good fun for a wonderful cause.
